"Bill has come in to provide training regularly for a few years now. The blend of his knowledge, wisdom, honesty, and grace make him a very well noted and appreciated presenter. We have always gotten excellent feedback about his sessions. Bill helps people receiving services, family members, support staff, teachers, supports coordinators/case managers all find common experiences, understanding and language to use the information presented effectively. I hope you get the opportunity to have Bill come to your area."

"My husband and I saw you speak at a conference a couple of years ago in Pittsburgh. Thank you for leaving such a positive imprint on our hearts. Because of you, we have embraced our son's passions (sharks, sports, weather---his ‘passions’ change every year or so) and have used them to increase his learning in other areas. Things have been going very well. Thank you again for shining a positive light on our son's future."

"I attended your conference on Demystifying Autism in Richmond, VA this past December. I was so taken by all that you said and I now view some of the things that my son does in such a different (and patient) light. I quickly read your book and have passed it on to others to read as well. I run a support group to help parents who have just gotten the diagnosis of autism for their child. At the last meeting, I shared all that you had talked about and everyone wanted to know when or where they could hear you speak. Thank you again for all that you taught me in just one short day that will last a lifetime."

"I am a Supports Coordinator for children with developmental disabilities and a therapuetic staff support team member to a child with emotional difficulties. I love my work. I have worked with children who experience the natural way of being...autistic. I also have certifications in autism training, which pale in comparison to the training that I received yesterday at your seminar. I am writing to tell you that it was undoubtedly the MOST valuable seminar I have been to in professional career. It has given me a whole new perspective on who we are as people and how to pursue our passion as individuals and professionals. I am very interested in learning all that I can possibly learn about autism, because I feel a real connection to them. Being an inherently gentle and exquisitely sensitive person myself, I am more in tune with how they relate to the world. I appreciated your approach to us as an audience and the subject matter was just incredible."

"I attended your seminar Demystifying Autism, held on 04-22-2004, at the Beacon Light Behavioral Health Systems Shelter Care Gymnasium in Bradford, Pennsylvania. The seminar was sponsored by the Cameron/Elk/McKean Counties MH/MR program.

"I want to personally thank you for sharing your experience and wisdom with us. I am the father of a wonderful 11-year-old autistic stepson, Mathew, who has changed my life in so many ways. But I'm not writing to bore you with my stories.
Your seminar was exhilarating and uplifting and fabulous. I really can't put my feelings and gratitude into words. I got it. I really got it. Thank you."

"Thank you so much for yesterday. You did a great service for many people who need you. When I think about those parents who went home and maybe looked at their child in a different way, my heart sings. I am still feeling a high, feeling so validated by you and your message.

"I want to give you some feedback about your presentation. For me, the time flew by. It is obvious that you select each word carefully, and I was totally focused on every word you said. It appeared to be this way for the other people that I observed. It is so obvious that you speak from the heart, and from your own, unique experience. You have knowledge that few others have, and these parents are desperate to learn about their children who perhaps cannot speak for themselves. You have a gift in presenting. Do not doubt it.

"So, dear Bill, thank you. You are doing a GREAT service."

–Pat Smedley

"I also want to thank you for all of the many things that I have learned from you. You changed my life and thinking to which I will always be grateful. I look at many things differently now because of your input. Thank you again."

"Hi Mr. Hoffman, Chris and I just wanted to convey our deepest gratitude to you for all your work in arranging the Bill Stillman consultation.

"Without your efforts securing funding, and arranging travel, none of this would have been possible. You should be nominated for sainthood for all the time you've spent on making this all happen.

"The county, through your efforts to bring in Bill Stillman, has given us a new beginning with our daughter, Katelyn.

"Katelyn has shown dramatic progress in school. She has gone from being disruptive and aggressive on an almost daily basis, to blending in so well that even a Special Education specialist with 20 years of experience couldn't pick her out of her peers. We couldn't have asked for anything better than that.

"Bill Stillman has given us a translation, so that we are able to understand Katelyn's language. He has a unique personal experience as well as years of work in the autism field to validate his suggestions.

"As a direct result of his suggestions, Katelyn has become a self-advocate. She is now able to monitor her own frustration level, and ask for a break when she
needs it. She is better at expressing when she is in pain whether is physical or emotional.

"Her social skills have soared beyond our expectations. She is now able to initiate appropriate conversations with her peers and adults. She is improving in reciprocal conversation, as well. These are things I didn't hope to see for years.

"Again, we thank you for all your time and for making this wonderful opportunity a reality for us."

Blessings to you,
Chris and Kari Main

"As a Head Start coordinator, I have attended countless trainings over the past 12 years. I want you to know that I have never walked away feeling more enlightened than I did yesterday. I spent most of my day today sharing your message with our program director and other coordinators. I am putting together key points from your training to present to our teaching staff. We have had many 3 and 4 year old children with PDD in our Head Start program over the years, some diagnosed prior to or during their enrollment, but most not diagnosed until years after they left. I was saddened yesterday as I listened to you and thought about how many missed opportunities our staff had to 'connect' with those children. But I too believe that we do the best that we can and that when we know better, we do better. I promise you that I will share your message with anyone who will listen and in the future we will do better.

"I am scheduled to attend the National Autism Conference in State College in August. I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to meet you before I attend that training. I know that as I listen to the presenters there, I will know whether they really 'get it' and when the opportunity presents itself, I will share your message there, as well."

Again, my heartfelt thanks,
Linda Hackett
